The materials that you'll need are the following: two die cut shapes, die cut machine, card stock, decorative paper, and pop up dots.
Read the Step-by-Step Guide Below:
The first thing you need to do is prepare your die cut machine and some dies. I'm using a circular one and this smaller geometric shape.
Position a card stock into the machine. Place the circular die cut on top of your card and put the geometric shape right at the middle of it as seen below.
Tape it down with a washi tape to avoid being moved around as we use the machine.
Cover and lock it with your folder and run it through the die cut machine. Carefully crank the lever and make sure that it's being pressed firmly to achieve a clean cut.
Once you're done with the cutting, you'll be left with this circular cutout. Remove the dies, especially the one we put in the middle earlier. Remove the excess paper from the die cut to reveal the cool geometric shape.
Now, to put it all together, we'll use a colorful card stock for the background. This will make the die cut shapes appear more prominent. What we'll do is adhere the smaller die cut flat into the background and have the circle one on top of it with some pop up dots.
So you'll understand how I made it better, here's how it looks once completely assembled!
I colored the geometric shape with a black marker and had it sit in the background with a strip of decorative paper.
Then I drew some stitching lines on the edges of the circle and adhered it with some pop up dots. I then added the sentiments on the corners.
Isn't that amazing? Just by doing some die cuts, we were able to create this cool geometric design with a dimension effect!
And the most fun part is you're not limited to using one shape! You can mix and match different shapes with this technique. I think a circle and a heart would look really cute!
